Who told you desserts couldn’t be eaten for breakfast? Bollocks. It’s the best part of being an adult.
Admittedly, these breakfast desserts have all been healthified (yes, that is a word). I certainly don’t eat them every day – but I’m sure you know the feeling, some days you just FEEL like something a bit sweet.
Do you like cheesecake? Of course you do, you’re only human.
I have a serious crush on Amy. I love her cooking style – I mean, how could you not have a soft spot for a woman who re-works cheesecake into breakfast?
Believe it or not, these are low fat, high protein, gluten free and delicious. One little cheesecake is just 195 calories with over 13g of protein.
A slightly different twist – this time adding Greek yoghurt. Why not?
Perhaps you’re more of a biscuit kind of person. Not the American biscuit – that’s a scone people! But the rest of the world kind of biscuit.
Or get some veg in….

I tell myself that these contain vegetables so it’s fine. But really, they are. And I just use an egg. Not a flax egg.
And they are so portable that if you’re a ‘running late in the morning’ kind-of-person, these will be your saviour from hunger. Grab and go, girl!
Last, but not least, we cannot discuss dessert for breakfast without DONUTS.
If any dessert needed a healthy makeover, it’s definitely donuts.
But these gorgeous blueberry oatmeal donuts… Heaven! By Bear and Lion Mama
Donut pans that go into the oven have opened up a world of baking opportunities for donuts…
Get all the details here. You’re welcome.
These flourless donuts can be made several ways – I have stolen the protein icing idea to use at my place… So darned clever…
Oats make up the grain part and you can choose the type of donut you’d like. I have found it’s best to bake and then freeze these – just pull them out of the freezer when you’re ready to eat – and then apply the icing.
I also zap in the microwave for a few seconds – finishing with a few minutes in the toaster or oven for that just baked feeling.
Thanks to Big Man’s World for this – it’s simple and delicious. Details are all here.
Lastly, another blueberry donut but you change up fruit- of course. These are much more like ‘conventional’ donuts.
From Southern-in-Law (who also has some more amazing recipes on her site), these Baked Blueberry Protein Donuts use protein powder in the recipe.
I’m not tolerating nuts at the moment so I leave out almond flour and use a little tapioca instead. I also replace nut butters with apple sauce. Yeah, my life is one big thrill ride with the foods Jett and I have to avoid with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.
But PLEASE try this recipe if you’re going for a more conventional tasting donut breakfast. Do-nut skip this one. It’s a hole lotta yum.
That’s enough from me now…
